San Luis Trail

San Luis Mission Park is a great place to escape into lightly forested woods for a quick workout, unwind with your furry friend or leisurely fish on Lake Esther. The park is located on the south side of W Tharpe Street and just west of Ocala Rd in Tallahassee, and includes approximately 2.9 miles of unpaved loop trails, including: Diego’s Loop at 0.1 miles, Luis Luis Loop at 0.2 miles, Apalachee Loop at 0.4 miles, Bentura’s Loop at 0.3 miles, and Entire Loop at 0.6 miles. Pick any opening point and follow the marked loops to explore the slightly inclined and slopping trail paths – all points lead back the park or to the nearby neighborhoods. Situated in the middle of the park is the gorgeous Lake Esther where a wooden boardwalk exists to connect the northern and southern areas of the park. Just south of the boardwalk there is an asphalt trail that spans for 0.3 miles, that loops around the popular dog park.

Featured Uses: Walking, running, cycling or mountain biking, fishing, and nature viewing. Leashed dogs are permitted on the trail and off-leash dogs can use the nearby fenced dog park.

Park Access: 1313 San Luis Rd. Tallahassee Fl, 32304.
